서부 플로리다 한인회는 지난 9월19일(일) 오후3시에 한인회관에서 아시안 혐오범죄 예방 및 대응방안에 대한 세미나를 가졌습니다.
세미나 제1부 에서 카운티 보안국 채드 크로니스터 보안관과 존 맥다비 수사관이 강사로 수고해 주셨고 2부 에서는 USF 사회학과 교수인 박난숙 교수님이 강사로 참여해 주셨습니다.
펜데믹 관계로 한인회 임원들과 일부 초청된 인사만 참여했는데도 불구하고 많이 참여해 주시고 성원해 주셔서 아시안 혐오 범죄에 대한 동포들의 관심이 많음을 알수 있었습니다.
또한 한인회 에서는 카운티 보안관 과 수사관 들에게 업무 지원금을 전달하여 한인사회와 미국 지방정부 그리고 경찰과의 관계를 돈독히 함으로 동포들의 혐오 범죄 노출 예방과 대응에 보다 효율적으로 대처해 나아가려 합니다.
The Korean American Association of West Florida held a seminar on the prevention and response of Asian hate crimes at the Korean Center at 3 pm on Sunday, September 19th.
In the first part of the seminar, Sheriff Chad Kronister and Detective John McDarby of the County Sheriff's Department served as lecturers.
Due to the pandemic, even though only the executives of the Korean Association and some invited guests participated; it shows that there was a lot of interest among Koreans in anti-Asian crimes.
In addition, the Korean American Association provides work support to county sheriffs and investigators to strengthen the relationship between the Korean American community and the U.S. local government as well as the police department, in an effort to more effectively respond to and prevent exposure to hate crimes among our compatriots.
